Un niño de nueve años, Wataru Ikusabe, es arrastrado mágicamente a un mundo de fantasía llamado Soukaizan, donde se supone que él es el héroe destinado a salvarlo. A pesar de su corta edad y de no tener ninguna habilidad especial, la fe y el coraje de Wataru son suficientes para despertar el poder latente en una humilde figura de arcilla, transformándola en un robot de combate.
