En su primer día en la preparatoria Nishi, la joven Hiromi Oka, de 15 años, queda fascinada por la destreza de Reika Ryuuzaki, apodada "Ochoufujin", y decide dedicarse al tenis. Poco después de unirse al club de tenis de la escuela, conoce a Jin Munakata, el nuevo entrenador. Munakata impone un régimen de entrenamiento tan exigente que deja en ridículo hasta a la propia Ochoufujin.
A pesar de las dificultades, la tenacidad de Hiromi impresiona al entrenador, quien la elige para formar parte del equipo principal. Ahora, Hiromi deberá enfrentarse a la presión de sus compañeras mayores y superar innumerables desafíos en su camino para convertirse en una jugadora de tenis de élite. Su pasión por el deporte la impulsará a alcanzar la cima, sin importar el costo.
