Desde las estrellas llega un guerrero exiliado. Duke Fleed, príncipe de un planeta devastado por la tiranía del Rey Vega, huye hacia la Tierra a bordo de una nave ancestral. Aquí, bajo el cuidado del bondadoso Dr. Umon, encuentra un nuevo hogar y un nuevo nombre: Daisuke Umon. Sin embargo, la paz es efímera. Las fuerzas de Vega ponen sus ojos en nuestro planeta, amenazando con sumirlo en la misma oscuridad que consumió su mundo natal.
Pero Daisuke no está solo. Armado con el legendario robot Grendizer, un coloso de poder inimaginable, y acompañado por valientes aliados como Koji y Hikaru, se alza como la última esperanza de la humanidad. Junto a su hermana Maria Grace, recién llegada para unirse a la lucha, Daisuke se enfrenta a un destino forjado en el acero y la determinación.
