Meimi Haneoka es una chica de catorce años que lleva una doble vida. De día, es una estudiante común y corriente, pero al caer la noche, se transforma en Saint Tail, una ladrona fantasma con un corazón de oro. Su misión es devolver lo robado a quienes fueron víctimas de la avaricia, actuando como una moderna Robin Hood que imparte justicia con astucia y agilidad.
En sus audaces hazañas, Meimi cuenta con el apoyo incondicional de Seira Mimori, una novicia que le brinda ayuda desde la sombra.
