Kenichi Shirahama es un estudiante de secundaria que vive una vida bastante mediocre. Entre las palizas que recibe en el club de karate y su afición por los libros de autoayuda, su rutina es predecible. Todo cambia cuando conoce a Miu Furinji, una misteriosa y poderosa nueva compañera de clase. Tras un encuentro casual donde Miu demuestra una fuerza asombrosa, Kenichi se ve inmerso en un desafío: debe enfrentarse a otro miembro del club de karate o abandonar el equipo.
Desesperado por mejorar y evitar la derrota, Kenichi le pide ayuda a Miu. Ella lo guía hasta el dojo Ryouzanpaku, hogar de maestros de artes marciales con técnicas extremas y personalidades excéntricas. Miu le advierte que su entrenamiento será brutal y que deberá luchar por su propia supervivencia. A medida que Kenichi se sumerge en este mundo de combate, también surge una nueva amenaza: la organización criminal Ragnarok, que pone en peligro a sus seres queridos.
Con estas palabras resonando en su cabeza y la sombra de Ragnarok cerniéndose sobre él, Kenichi emprende un arduo camino. Su objetivo es convertirse en un luchador de élite y un protector para aquellos que no pueden defenderse, demostrando que incluso el más débil puede alcanzar la grandeza.
